On the 28th through the 30th of October in 1963, Car Life Magazine editor Gene Booth accompanied a 1964 Studebaker through it's birth. Two very important things came from his trip. That particular trip provided the average person an intimate look at how an automobile is built. That record of how Studebaker did it is still available to us today. Also, the car Studebaker built for Car Life Magazine was one of the rarest production cars ever to came out of their South Bend factory. The car was a 1964 R4 Studebaker Daytona Hardtop, and built especially for Car Life Magazine to road test it. Here is the articles covering it's birth and road test by Gene Booth. Without further adieu, let's travel back to the experience........ |
