Remember, this is a dyno engine.Carnut1Cars wrote: ↑06 Oct 2019, 17:00<snip> Any chance we could get the max advance numbers? Just as a ballpark as I am setting up a similar distributor.
Mechanical advance 'all in' at 3,000 rpm.
No vacuum advance.
Timing is engine specific, and each engine will tell you what it wants, depending on fuel and load and atmospheric conditions.
If I told you a number and you used it, it could be all wrong for your engine.
Let us say that we started at 25 degree's and went up from there...

Re: 2019 Engine Master's Challenge - Studebaker Power Team
Thanks for the externally adjustable metering block info. We ended with 38 degrees total distributor timing, a lot for a Studebaker V/8 but on the dyno power kept increasing from starting point of 25 degrees. We did 21 dyno pulls and added one to two degrees at a time and power increased each time, so I don't know what is max at this time with this engine. Maybe it was the fuel that allowed this to happened. Running on the dyno and down the drag strip are two different things so I don't recommend doing this. Compression ratio 10.3.

Thank you for your fine work on the windage tray. was not able to use the scrapers and will return to you. The oil pan was used with 5 qts. 15/50 Amsoil after break-in oil 30w removed. We have to wait for new 2020 rules. Hope to use same engine again with modifications.
Thank you again

Great news!
Due to numerous requests, we are running a new batch of button down 2019 Engine Masters Studebaker Power team shirts to be offered up for sale to the supporters and enthusiasts of the Studebaker Power Team.
Will have pricing available soon. There will be three changes made from the original art work.
(1) No monogram offered (to keep cost down)
(2) No flag sewn on sleeve* (to keep cost down)
* I will put a loose flag in the box upon request.
(3) (to be announced)
Pre-orders needed now so quantities can be estimated and an accurate price can be quoted.
"Should" be in the $40 to $45 range (less if I can get some quantity breaks).
Will need your address so freight out can be accurately quoted.
Will ship these direct from the printer to avoid double freight out charges (to keep cost's down).
These are great shirts that can be worn with pride!

Sarge approved!
