Getting my spare T-10 rebuilt to swap out in my "61 Hawk. It desperately needs a new clutch as well. I'm planning on a significant power increase in the future so I want a high-performance clutch that an old duffer's leg can handle. I've heard of others using a dual disc type. Looking for suggestions on a clutch. It's got to use the stock bell housing and NOT require a hydraulic T.O. bearing. A picture of the significant power increase below.

Re: Street / Strip Clutch Needed
I've posted the motor before when I built the intake and set up all the blower unique parts but all the parts for it, (internal and external all got archived to move on to some other mad scientist project or another. So, the goal is to rebuild the T-10 with a new clutch and mildly goose up the 289 that is in the Hawk this summer, build the blower motor over the winter and then install it in the Hawk. I got the Hawk out of storage this weekend. It was in storage since 2019 so it got a bit dusty. I never intended for it to be there more than a month or two, but life happens sometimes.
So I still need some clutch recommendations.

Ah, ofcourse, I saw it on the S.D.C. forum, didn't cross my mind that it was about the same car.

The Centerforce diaphragm pressure plates require less pedal pressure and clamp tighter as RPMs build. That's probably 1/4 the cost of a dual disc, because they're a catalog item and the DD would be a custom.

Jack,
I assume a diaphragm type requires some modifications? Does the bell housing need modified or the clutch?

The one I used fit with no problems, but there's more than one V8 bell housing.
