Good article. The carb I used on the camper was from Jet.
Grew up Studebaker. Drag raced successfully in Southern California. Flew down the salt in the Burke Avanti in 2010 at 159 mph as the Bucket List Dream Avanti. Now part of the Dutch Treat Racing Team, Super Lark driver/team member.

I know this is an old post but wondering if there has been any updates? I was wondering if you all considered a 4100 series Autolite? With the 1.08 bores it’s like a 471cfm and was used on the 260 and 289 fords from the 60’s.

I used a 4100 on the Weiand Hi-Rise on the 283 in my '65 4 speed Cruiser for years. It replaced a troublesome AFB.
Once I got the 4100 set-up, adding a speed shop mechanical secondary kit, I never had to touch it again. One of the best and easiest carbs I ever worked on.

Hi Jessie,
As an addendum to your Q-jet post, I am currently putting the finishing touches on a custom Jeff R Chryco LA intake manifold which was designed strictly for a Rochester Q-Jet on the Stude manifold. I have a custom Holley 650 CFM double pumper spreadbore which I plan to use as an upgrade over the Q-jet.
I'll try to give updates and pics once this damn winter goes away.
Cheers,
Bill
