Expensive Stude blower engine for sale

Post by Four+two+seven »

The 308" Stude V8 with aluminum heads is running and ready to sell. Currently in Stevens Point, WI, may soon move to Indianapolis IN.

The engine has been described several times in the Ongoing projects topic area, but I'll repeat some of it here. The base engine, the short block, is a 1956 (57?) truck engine bored to take Ford pistons. Cam is Harbit R2+, valve gear is all new (valves, springs, rockers, shafts all high performance aftermarket). Jack Vines put together the short block and a full description is available of all parts & machining that went into the engine. The heads are aluminum LA Mopar, with all conversion work done by Risk Racecraft in Indianapolis. Over $9,000 of welding & machining went into the heads. The intake is an air gap aluminum aftermarket. New distributor. New electric water pump. 1964 Hawk 4 speed bellhousing (Ford style) with a rebuilt starter. New tubular shorty headers.

The engine was conceived as a supercharged lightweight engine for use in an Avanti GT; the compression ratio is between 8.5-8.75. Currently the engine output is roughly 300+HP with a single 4bbl; a Paxton SN supercharger will move the output into the 425-450 HP range. Engine has been run, holds 60PSI oil pressure and 175PSI compression. All paperwork & receipts come with the engine. Cash price of engine is $6500. If you want to buy additional pieces to install a Paxton blower, they are available at additional cost. I have brackets for top mount or side mount of the blower. Also have finned Studebaker valve covers.

Total amount I have invested in this engine? Almost $20,000, including assembly by Jack Vines and Engine Masters winner Royce Brechler. please contact these guys for an independent review of the engine. You can contact me, Stan Palma, at 317-727-7410 or sjp@palmaarch.com. I also text.

Wowwwwww – that sounds amazing! Also while $6500 is no chump change, it doesn't sound too unreasonable for this much motor. Maybe re-title this SO MUCH BANG FOR YOUR BUCK Stude blower engine for sale! 😁😁😁
