Delrin would be a tad low, as it melts at about 350f.

Sintered metal 3D printing could bring a honeycomb matrix that would allow major weight removal from non-stress areas.
Or... CNC pocket milling of Jon's adapters could remove weight, too.

According to the specs. that I read, it starts to get soft at 350°F. I doubt the top of the cylinder heads ever get that hot.
I know of many race cylinder heads that have various epoxy mixtures in the intake ports, and they live without problems.
Hell, MANY years ago, I filled a large plenum crossram manifold with..."bondo"..! It lived for about a year before it started peeling up in a couple of the corners. I think that was more a gasoline problem than heat.
If the plates would have been shaped more like the gasket, or manifold shape, they'd be a LOT lighter. With the CNC machining, not sure why that could not have happened. I know that time is money, and the few minutes more on the mill would have been worth the money.
I suggested it at one time way back and was shot down..!?

You are right, time is money, or in this case "chips" is money. I have a hard enough time selling them at the current cost and I don't make diddly on them. If they were selling like hotcakes I would be more inclined to improve them. Sculpturing the edges would go a long way to making them more stealthy as well. I'll take a look at it this fall when I get back to moving forward on the SBC to Caddy version. I looked into 3D printing them in "polysulfone", a pharmaceutical plastic that is autoclavable, good to over 600F. The single set aluminum prototype was $700.00 for the pair just for the material and machining. The polysulfone was $800.00 and little to no discount for multiple parts so you need to be a diehard racer to go that route. Any idea as to when yours will see fuel?

Oh, and as far as weight savings my daughter said I should go on a diet and shave 20 pounds off the car.

Worken in it. Details, need to do some machining.
Have the cylinder head side match ported to my heads, and roughed to the manifold side. That's gonna be a little harder to finish well.

Anyone near me have an Avanti, 63 / 64, that could stop by with it and help me get some real dimensional data on available clearance under the hood? If someone had a car with a non-running motor I could go to it also. I get asked often if they fit under the Avanti hood and I can't say one way or the other. I am in southeast Wisconsin in Fort Atkinson.

I currently have five sets in stock for sale at the old price of $425.00 and that includes shipping. Once they're gone the new price will be $465.00 + shipping. Material cost increases over 2.5 years accounts for the increase.
